Three motions of reason

Prompt

Takes the idea as you actually think it — scattered, abbreviated, half in another language — and writes the prompt you meant: one aim, sharpened to a point.

intent, sharpened
Summarize

Pours a long text — a thread, a paper, a meeting's worth of words — through the funnel and hands back the one drop that holds its essence.

volume, distilled
Refine

Machines the rough edge from what you wrote — grammar, spelling, wording — until the sentence turns smoothly, with your meaning untouched.

Why λόγος

Before it named anything else, λόγος named a conviction: that beneath the noise of the world runs an order the mind can find — and that to find it is to be able to say it. For Heraclitus it was the hidden harmony of things; for the rhetoricians, the argument that stands on its own reason.

The quill is the instrument of that conviction. A feather — the lightest of things — cut to a point, giving durable form to passing thought. Nothing about it is decorative: the vane balances, the nib commits.

Logos works the same way on your words. You bring the rough material — a half-formed ask, a sprawling text, a sentence that almost says it — and reason does what reason has always done: it finds the single clear form inside.
